Refuge ‘Domestic Abuse Is Getting Smarter’

In 2021, Refuge Charity turns 50, opening the first refuge for women and children experiencing domestic abuse in 1971. But this is nothing to celebrate. In fact, 50 years on, Refuge’s job is getting more complex with the evolution of connected living. Abusers can now use smart tech to control every aspect of their partner’s lives, in more subtle and insidious ways than ever.
